Kunst. Saisoneröffnung in der hannöverschen Kestnergesellschaft. Alles, was Rang und Namen hat, war da. Ich auch, weil bis 19 Uhr die Drinks umsonst waren. Ab 19.05 Uhr schwelgte ich in Jugenderinnerungen, weil ich genau an der Stelle, wo im Bild oben die Palmen sind, Schwimmen gelernt habe. Früher war das ein öffentliches Schwimmbad, jetzt ist es der mit Millionen gepamperte Kunsttempel-Treffpunkt der hannöverschen Bürgergesellschaft. Dementsprechend war die Kunst belanglos, die Palmen oben sind echt. Eigentlich sollten sie künstlich sein, wg. Kunst. Früher hampelten bei solchen Veranstaltungen noch ein paar bunte Künstlerhoffnarren rum, um Brosamen vom Bürgertisch zu picken. Mittlerweile sehen selbst die verspießert aus. Sehnsucht nach Berlin überfiel mich, da sehen die Leute bei sowas wenigstens bunt aus. Wussten Sie übrigens, dass Berlin eine Autodichte von 334 PKW auf 1.000 Bewohnerinnen hat?
Zum Vergleich, weil die Zahl ohne Relation nichts sagt: Das stolze Wolfsburg, Meerumschlungen, hat eine PKW-Dichte von 956 Autos.
Was zum Teufel ist mit den restlichen 44 los, die an 1.000 fehlen? Linksgrünversiffte Ökoterroristen? Wolfsburg ist die Stadt mit dem höchsten Einkommen in Niedersachsen, VW-Facharbeiter-Adel. Wolfsburg war immer fest in SPD-Hand und die immer fest in der Hand der IG Metall. In Wolfsburg konnte nur was werden, wer den Segen der mächtigen Gewerkschaft hatte. Bei der Bundestagswahl 2005 erzielte die stolze Arbeiterpartei dort über 49 Prozent.
Doch wehe, wehe, wenn ich auf das Ende sehe: 2025 waren es noch 23,2 Prozent. Das Direktmandat gewann die CDU. Die AfD war mit 21,8 % auf SPD-Augenhöhe und wird sie bei der nächsten Landtagswahl 2027 zerschmettern, in den Orkus der Geschichte treten. Ähnliches, nicht ganz so schlimm, phasenverzögert, wird mit der IG Metall bei den nächsten Betriebsratswahlen 2026 passieren. AfD-nahe Gewerkschaften gibt es bereits in Süddeutschland in den großen Betrieben und die werden sich auch woanders ausbreiten.
38 Prozent der Arbeiter haben die AfD gewählt bei der letzten Bundestagswahl. Die AfD ist die Arbeiterpartei schlechthin und will das auch auf institutioneller Ebene verankern. Im Herzen der Bestie, in den Betrieben der Industrie, die nach wie vor trotz allem Dienstleistungsgedöns den Takt der Republik vorgeben. Die AfD rüttelt an der Monopolstellung der IG Metall bei den Betriebsräten und Vertrauensleuten.
Die IG Metall ist in heller Panik. Nicht etwa, weil der Faschismus auf breiter Arbeiter-Front im Vormarsch wäre. Nein, die IG Metall bangt um ihre Pfründe, ihren Einfluss, ihre Aufsichtsratsposten, gut bezahlte Funktionärsjobs und Kungeleien mit Arbeitgebern. Man nennt das beschönigend „Sozialpartnerschaft“ und das, was korrumpierte Betriebsräte in den Betrieben mit Personalchefs und Geschäftsführern zu Lasten der Beschäftigten mauscheln, wird euphemistisch „Co-Management“ genannt. Vom Klassenkampf ist spätestens nicht mehr die Rede, seit ich nicht mehr in der gewerkschaftlichen Bildungsarbeit tätig bin.
Die IG Metall beklagt keineswegs den wachsenden faschistischen Einfluss bei den Arbeitnehmerinnen, sondern die geschwächte Einheitsfront.
Einen Bericht der »WirtschaftsWoche«, wonach seit Jahresanfang Tausende VW-Beschäftigte der Gewerkschaft den Rücken gekehrt haben, kommentierte ein Sprecher der niedersächsischen IG Metall mit den Worten: »Wir liegen von den im Artikel dargestellten Zahlen meilenweit entfernt.“ Auf Deutsch: Die Meldung stimmt.
Das ist deshalb von Bedeutung, weil Gewerkschaften die einzige zivilgesellschaftliche Massenorganisation wären, die im Ernstfall auch auf der Straße antifaschistische Wirkmacht entfalten könnten.
Enden wollen wir aber versöhnlich-kulinarisch: Das einzige Dreisterne Restaurant in Niedersachsen steht wo? Genau, in Wolfsburg. Das Aqua. Dort feiern die VW-Spesenritter fette Vertragsabschlüsse mit illustren Gästen aus aller Welt.
Noch. Wenn die VW-Verbrenner-Herrlichkeit erst richtig zusammenbricht, wird die letzte Feier, bevor da das Licht ausgeht, die eines AfD-Oberbürgermeisters zu seiner Wahl da sein.
Auf nach Berlin. Ist zwar auch verrottet, aber lustiger als Wolfsburg und die Kestnergesellschaft.
