Eisenhüttenstadt. Reissbrettstadt, erbaut im Stil des sozialistischen Klassizismus Anfang der Fünfziger, als Heimat des Eisenhüttenkombinats EKO. Nach der Wende wurde das Kombinat von Arcelor Mittal übernommen, das die Belegschaft auf ein Fünftel eindampfte. Von den ursprünglich über 50.000 Einwohnerinnen sind weniger als die Hälfte übriggeblieben. Sie nennen ihre Heimatstadt, ursprünglich Stalinstadt, nach dessen Tod umbenannt, „Schrottogrod“. Die AfD erzielte bei den letzten Wahlen fast 33 (!) Prozent der Stimmen. Dieses Mal ist keine Rote Armee in Sicht, die im April 45 hier über die Oder setzte und dem Faschismus ein Ende setzte.
Die Herrschaft, die danach einsetzte, war natürlich keine bürgerliche Demokratie. Eine Terrorherrschaft wie die faschistische war sie natürlich auch nicht. Auch wenn Kulturkampfidioten wie Kulturminister Weimar immer noch mit der Lüge hausieren gehen: Linksextremisten gleich Rechtsextremisten. Kein Wunder, dass Staat und Gesellschaft hierzulande völlig überfordert sind mit der Bekämpfung des Faschismus, wenn sie noch nicht mal zu einer anständigen theoretischen Analyse fähig sind, geschweige denn zu einem radikalen, wehrhaften Antifaschismus.
Der Tag im ehemaligen Stalinstadt war ein sonniger. Die Innenstadt war wegen des Aufbaus für eine Volksbelustigung autofrei. Niemand war unterwegs, nur ein paar Rentnerinnen mit Rollator. Mir war beklommen zumute. Dieser steingewordene , gescheiterte Versuch, am Reissbrett einen besseren Menschen, eine bessere Gesellschaft mit Mitteln von Architektur und Städtebau zu konstruieren , stimmte mich wehmütig.
Diese Gefühlsflausen wurden mir beim Ausstieg aus dem RE am Bahnhof Friedrichstraße gründlich ausgetrieben, als ich mich auf mein Klapprad schwang. In Berlin immer lebensgefährlich. Helm auf!
Eisenhüttenstadt ist das größte Flächendenkmal Deutschlands. Für die, deren Augen und Gemüt nicht nur vom ewigen Venedig, Barcelona, Athen verkleistert sind, lohnt sich ein Besuch unbedingt.
